This first edition of Roads Ireland focuses on
the NRA, the semi-State body charged with overseeing roads development in Ireland and which had recently celebrated its first decade of operation.

Our core theme in this issue is the controversial M3/Tara route. This long-awaited upgrade of the busy N3 has engendered much heated debate surrounding the question of whether or not the national treasure that is the hill of Tara will be interfered with.

We invited a number of people from different sides of the argument to contribute articles for Roads Ireland 5. As a result we have the local viewpoint, the business opinion, the archaeological case and the trenchant views of the anti-M3 campaigner as well as those of a neutral journalist: all of which makes for very interesting reading.
